Flemish series 'Oh, Otto!" wins award for best short series at Canneseries
The shortform competition accepts series whose episodes are less than 30 minutes long. In the main competition, the Flemish series 'Dood spoor' (Dead Lead), Malin-Sarah Gozin's new fiction series featuring Peter Van den Begin, and 'How to Kill Your Sister', Jonas Geirnaert's debut as director, both stood a chance of winning. In the end, the Norwegian series “A Better Man” walked off with the top prize.
Flemish hopes were also high in the documentary series competition: 'Dag Vreemde Man' (Streamz) was 1 of the 5 contenders, but there, too, a Norwegian production, 'The Agent - The Life and Lies of My Father' won the competition.
In addition, 7 more series were screened out of competition, including 2 Flemish ones: 'Holy Sh!t' and 'De Big Fuck-up'. Both series can be seen on Streamz later this year.
