An 8-year-old boy has died in hospital of the injuries he received when he was run over by a tractor on his grandfather’s farm in the West Flemish village of Bikschote on Tuesday.
The boy’s grandfather was at the wheel of the tractor. He reportedly made a wrong maneuver when he was getting out of the tractor and the little boy ended up under its wheels.
The 8-year-old sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. On Friday morning it was announced that the boy had died.
The prosecutor’s office has appointed an accident investigation expert and the exact circumstances surrounding the accident are still being investigated.
