The Brussels public prosecutor's office opened an investigation in May 2023 after videos surfaced on social media of a motorist filming himself driving through traffic at high speed. The influencer’s Instagram account revealed that he allegedly rented more than 70 sports cars registered in Poland and Germany. According to the Brussels prosecutor's office, it was clear that the man was flouting traffic rules.

‘Offences included excessive speed. Speeds of over 250 kilometres per hour were reached and dangerous overtaking manoeuvres were made,’ the prosecutor’s office says. ‘The offender filmed what he did and published his own videos on social networks, where he was followed by more than 40,000 people.’

Already had driving ban

The influencer was arrested in December 2023, while driving a car he had rented. It became apparent that he was already subject to a driving ban. He was arrested and transferred to Haren prison, but was tagged and conditionally released 2 weeks later pending further investigation.

This investigation is now complete. The suspect will appear in court in Brussels on 9 April. He risks a hefty fine and a further driving ban.
