Steak and fries, it’s the meal of choice of most Belgians returning home from holiday abroad, but today the price of Belgian beef has never been higher, and prices are set to rise even further. The Federation of Belgian Butchers is even forecasting a price rise of up to 15 per cent. The reason is a general shortage of Belgian beef. VRT NEWS investigated what exactly is going on.
