Several government websites in Belgium have once come under attack from pro-Russian hackers. The hackers announced the new ‘DDOS’ attacks via their channel on the communication platform Telegram.
This time, the websites of the Belgian Ministries of the Economy and Finance are among those to have been attacked by the hackers. The website of the European Sea Port Organisation that is based in Brussels has also been also affected.
As on Monday, the hackers are using so-called ‘DDOS’ attacks. During a ‘DDOS’ attack hackers bombard the websites that they have targeted with so many emails and connection attempts that the sites are rendered temporarily inaccessible. No data is stolen during a ‘DDOS’ attack.
On Monday, the MyGov.be website was among those targeted.
