None of the nearly 250 passenger flights scheduled will take off from Brussels Airport on 31 March. Arriving flights will also suffer disruption.

Brussels Airport expects that just as in the past a lot of security staff and luggage handlers will join the general strike. ‘In order to guarantee the safety of passengers and staff and to avoid long queues, there will be no departing passenger flights at Brussels Airport on 31 March and that in agreement with the airlines,’ Brussels Airport says.

‘244 departing flights cannot go ahead,’ airport spokesman Jeffrey Franssens specified.

Airlines will inform passengers about the cancellation of their flights. Brussels Airport is asking passengers not to come to the airport.

Arriving flights will also be inconvenienced. Passengers can check the status of their flight with their airline or via the Brussels Airport website.

‘We regret the inconvenience caused to passengers by the industrial action,’ Brussels Airport notes.
