A judicial investigation has been opened into the alleged sexual abuse of children at the crèche at Brussels Francophone Free University ULB’s Solbosch Campus. The news was first reported by the Francophone public broadcaster RTBF and has since been confirmed by the university on its website. The investigation concerns alleged abuse committed by a former child carer at the crèche on ULB’s Solbosch Campus and her former partner. Both have been arrested.

The university has been informed by the Brussels public prosecutor about allegation of the sexual abuse of children at the Solbosch Crèche between October 2020 and October 2022. The university says it is “cooperating in full” with the Brussels public prosecutor's office, the examining magistrate and the police.
In a statement ULB said that “The families concerned have been informed and psychological and legal support is available to them.”
