Southerly winds will carry warm air across Belgium, making it particularly warm for the time of year. It will remain dry just about everywhere in the country and there will be sunny spells, albeit after a grey start in the Ardennes. The sunny spells will be interspersed with periods of cloud. Winds will be moderate to locally strong south-westerly.

Friday evening will see cloud increase and by the end of the night there could be some scattered showers. Minimum temperatures will drop to between 4°C and 10°C. Winds will be moderate southwesterly.

The outlook for the weekend

Saturday will be cloudy with periods of rain. The rain will be most persistent in western areas. It will become dryer towards the end of the afternoon in coastal areas. Temperatures will reach between 10°C and 14°C.

On Sunday it will be drier. Nevertheless, the day will start off grey. The cloud will clear during the course of the morning. High cloud will increase from the west in the afternoon, but it will remain dry. Maximum temperatures will reach between 9°C and 14°C.

Hay fever suffers beware!

Although most will no doubt welcome the early taste of spring, during the coming days, especially Friday and Sunday, it will not be pleasant for those that suffer from hay fever.

The Royal Meteorological Institute (KMI) says that the pollen count will be high to very high throughout the country. This will be particular the case in central and northern areas of the country. Those that suffer very badly from hay fever are advised to remain indoors.
