Premises came under fire in the Brussels borough of Anderlecht last night the Brussels public prosecutor's office says. Unlike in previous attacks, there were no victims in the present shooting.
It took place on the corner of the Kliniekstraat and the Clemenceauplein at around 2.00AM. Several shootings have already occurred on that square in recent weeks. This time, the façade of a house came under fire. Some 15 bullet impacts were reported, but the perpetrator is also said to have thrown a petrol bomb at the house. Nobody was injured, the public prosecutor's office adds.
It is not yet known whether there is a link to the shootings that took place on Sint-Guidoplein in recent days, or to previous shootings at the Clemenceau metro station and in the Peterbos neighbourhood of Anderlecht that are being linked to drug-trafficking. Two people have been killed and 3 others injured since the first shooting at the beginning of February.
