The movie covers everything. Robbie’s pathological lust for money, his drug use, unbridled bingeing, eating disorders, toxic love affairs and tested friendships. He leaves no stone unturned. ‘I am the villain in this film,’ he admits. ‘I always wanted to be the most messed-up person in the room.’
Fortunately, Robbie possessed enough emotional intelligence to realise he was directing his own death.
