360 new jobs at Brussels Airlines

The German aviation group Lufthansa hopes to recruit around 10,000 new staff this year. Of these 360 will be at the group’s Zaventem (Flemish Brabant) based airline Brussels  Airlines.

Half of the new jobs at Brussels Airlines will be for flight attendants. In addition to this there will be 60 vacancies for ground staff, 50 vacancies for pilots, 45 news jobs in the airline’s cargo warehouses and 20 vacancies for clerical staff.

The airline’s spokesman Nico Cardone told VRT News that the recruitment drive is necessary due to an expansion in the number of Brussels Airlines' services. This year an additional plane will enter service on Brussels Airlines' long-haul routes and an additional plane will also enter service on its European network. Brussels Airlines currently employs 3,500 people.

The number of new jobs across the whole Lufthansa group that includes airlines such as Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Eurowings and also the maintenance company Lufthansa Technik) is lower than the 13,000 people recruited in 2023. This is above all due to fewer new job vacancies being available at the airline Lufthansa. Currently 100,000 people in 90 countries work for Lufthansa Group.
