A 14-year-old girl has sustained serious injuries after he was hit by a tram on Antwerp’s Left Bank. Although the teenager’s injuries are serious, they are not life threatening. It is probable that she failed to notice that the tram was approaching as she crossed the road.

As a result of the accident there is disruption to tram services to and from the Left Bank area of Antwerp on Wednesday afternoon. Tram routes 3, 5, 9 and 15 are all affected. Tram route 3 is terminated at Astrid, tram route 5 at Schrijnpoort and routes 9 and 15 at Diamant.
The police hope that scene of the accident will be cleared as soon as possible.
