It was on 4 December 1999 that the then Belgian crown prince Filip wed Lady Mathilde d'Udekem d'Acoz, exactly 25 years ago today.
As is customary on birthdays, anniversaries and other joyous royal occasions, the royal palace in Brussels has released two photos of the royal couple to mark the occasion.
King Filip is the seventh King of the Belgians and has been on the throne since 21 July 2013. He and Queen Mathilde have four children: Crown Princess Elisabeth (°2001), Prince Gabriel (°2003), Prince Emmanuel (°2005) and Princess Eleonore (°2008).
