A team of 5 ticket inspectors that work for the Brussels public transport company MIVB were pelted with fireworks while they were waiting at a bus stop in the Neder-Over-Hembeek district of the city on Tuesday evening. The inspectors required hospital treatment for shock after the attack.
None of the ticket inspectors was seriously injured. But they did suffer damage to their hearing and according to their employer “are deeply shocked” by what happened.
The events that preceded the incident as still unclear. However, the area around the Beyseghem bus stop is notorious for incident involving youths either at the bus stop or on the bus services that serve it.
Police have as yet not detained any suspects. A crime report has been sent to the prosecutor’s office.
