A golden orb and rooster have been returned to the church tower in a village in Limburg following refurbishment.
An inspection in March revealed that the church spire in Paal had subsided, so the orb and the rooster were brought down while the steeple underwent extensive renovation. Inside the orb, workers found a tube containing a church charter and a collection of Belgian francs. A new tube has been placed inside the orb, containing photos of the church and some euro coins, and the decorations have been replaced.
