The taxi driver who carried the three Swedish football supporters who were attacked as they left his vehicle and his wife laid a wreath at the spot where terrorist Abdessalem Lassoued killed two Swedes exactly a year ago. Belgian premier Alexander De Croo and his Swedish counterpart Ulf Kristersson also laid wreaths in the presence of the Belgian home and justice ministers.
The Swedes were on their way to the Belgium-Sweden match. The Belgian authorities should already have extradited Lassoued to Tunisia when the attack took place. Belgian justice minister Van Tigchelt says action has now been taken to prevent any repeat of such instances.
