Shots were fired on a social housing estate in the Brussels municipality of Anderlecht on Monday night. The incident occurred on the Peterbos Estate, a social housing estate with high-rise blocks that in recent years has had issues with drug dealing and gangs. The police found a burned-out car not far from where the shots were fired.
The Brussels South Local Police Service received a call from a local resident that had heard shots being fired on the estate. When the police arrived, they found no one injured nor anyone carrying a firearm.
They did however find a burned-out vehicle that could be linked to the shooting. Several bullet cases were also found. The Brussels prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation and the Federal Police and a ballistics expert have been assigned to the case to carry out further investigation.
