The Brussels public transport company MIVB has announced on social media that a woman has given birth to a child in one of its metro stations. The happy event took place at the Beekkant metro station in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek on Sunday.
In a post on the social media platform Facebook MIVB writes “A first on our metro network. Last Sunday MIVB had its first ‘metro baby’. During a journey on our network a courageous mother gave birth at Beekkant metro station in the presence of her family, the emergency services and our colleagues”.
The Brussels public transport company has congratulated the family and its staff that went to the woman’s assistance. The new-born baby will receive a very special gift from MIVB that will serve as a reminder of the place where they were born. "It’s a moment that we will never forget and the little MIVB-er will be given a life-long season ticket to celebrate their birth”.
