The free Brussels Brost (Brussels bunks off) student festival, which traditionally signals the start of the student year, is returning to the centre of Brussels this year. This year Brussels Brost is held on Thursday 26 September on the Congresplein. DJ collective Frontal Soundsystem and Emilija will be on hand to ensure a lively atmosphere.
The Congresplein venue will allow the festival to take place out of doors once again after two editions cooped indoors at Palace 12 at the Heizel. The festival organisers expect 6,000 partygoers. This year’s central venue near rail and metro stations should make it easy for students to take part in the revelry.
To complete the festival line-up, the organisers are banking on young talent from Brussels as well as established names. In addition to Brussels DJ collective Frontal Soundsystem and rising star Emilija, Zouzibabe and DTM Funk will keep the crowd moving. ‘Shtamp king’ Omdat Het Kan will thrill the crowd till late in the evening.
Students are also expected at the ‘Brussels Village’, located in the old bank building a bit further down the road now occupied by Reset. There, students will be able to learn more about various socio-cultural partners including the KVS, Pilar, Leerwinkel Brussel (Learning Store Brussels), Paspartoe and Circus Zonder Handen (Circus Without Hands).
The festival starts at 2pm and lasts till 10pm. Admission is free.
