Inge and Erna Schreurs, two sisters from Heist-op-den-Berg(Antwerp Province), are currently on their honeymoon in Venice after celebrating their wedding together last Saturday. The two sisters do just about everything together, including working in their restaurant, going on trips and shopping. ‘So why not get married together too?’, the sisters told our reporter.

Sisters wed together and share honeymoon: ‘Only the bedrooms are separate!’

The two sisters from Heist-op-den-Berg do everything together and that now even includes getting married: to be clear, not to each other, but each to their own fiancé. Inge married Nick and Erna married Ivan.
At first, the pair were not supposed to get married on the same day. ‘Ivan had proposed to my sister on holiday,’ explains Inge Schreurs. ‘After that, Nick and I were constantly being asked if we were getting married too.’
‘One thing led to another, and then Nick also proposed’.
Naturally, the 2 sisters also bought their wedding dress together. ‘We are both getting married in traditional white,’ explained Inge ahead of the ceremony.
After the wedding party, the foursome left together on their honeymoon. ‘We have rented a small flat in Venice, so we can have breakfast together and have fun, but the bedrooms are separate!’ Erna insists.
Inge and Erna spend a lot of time together. ‘We work together in our restaurant. We often go shopping together and we travel together a lot too,’ Inge notes.
But that isn’t the whole story! ‘Actually, sometimes we do think very differently, but we are always good at finding a compromise.’ Fortunately for the two sisters, their hubbies are also good friends. ‘We play sports together, watch football and once in a while down a pint together,’ one explains.
‘When you spend so much time together, you are simply obliged to,’ concludes Inge.
