Although Belgium was the better team during the first half, they failed to create much in the way of chances. The Spanish goalkeeper Clara Perez was able to deal with few chances that there were for Belgium.

Save a couple of penalty corners, the Spaniards posed no danger at all during the first half.

Goals came in 4th quarter

It was more of the same during the third quarter with just one scoring opportunity for the Belgians.

Things changed in the fourth quarter though with Delphine Marien putting the Red Panthers one goal up on 46 minutes. Spain’s fate was sealed 3 minutes later when Charlotte Englebert made it 2-0 after the ball had landed next to her stick from a penalty corner.

Towards the end of the quarter Spain tried to get back into the game. However, their efforts were in vain and the score remained 2-0. Belgium will take on China in the semi-finals tomorrow evening.
