With pleasant summer weather forecast for the next couple of days, the Belgian rail company NMBS is laying on extra trains to the coast today and tomorrow.
The additional services will run to the stations at Ostend and Blankenberge (both West Flanders). NMBS’ spokesman Bart Crols told journals that 4 additional services will run in each direction on Monday and Tuesday.
Passengers heading for the coast are advised to check the Route Planner on NMBS’ website and app to see how busy it will be on the train they are planning to take.
It could be the case that passengers might have to wait at the station for some time before a train comes that still has space available. The advice is to “avoid the busiest periods”.
