Hot sunny weather many people were hoping for has arrived. Today will be sunny with highs between 23 degrees and the high twenties, possibly up to 30 degrees.
Today expect lots of sunshine and the occasional high cloud. Highs of 23 degrees in the High Fens, 26 degrees on the Flemish coast and 27 degrees in central parts. The wind from the east to southeast will be weak to moderate at times. Along the coast, look forward to a moderate sea breeze from north-east that will pick up speed in the afternoon.
Tuesday it will remain sunny. It will be warm with highs of 25 degrees on the coast and locally 30 or 31 degrees inland. A little wind either from variable directions or from the east to southeast. On the coast, a moderate sea breeze from the northeast in the afternoon.
Wednesday will be balmy and thundery with clear spells but also cloudier periods. The chance of thunderstorms increases in the afternoon. Highs will still reach about 28 degrees in central parts. Winds will be moderate from the northeast.
Thursday starts fairly sunny with the chance of morning cloud, especially in the south. During the day, it will be partly cloudy and some (thunder) showers may develop. It is still quite warm with highs around 26 degrees in central parts.
Expect the odd shower on Friday, mainly over the east of the country. From the west, it gradually becomes drier with more clearer spells. With a moderate wind from west to northwest, the oppressive heat will be less intense with highs of 21 to 25 degrees.
