In a video posted on Instagram he shows the van's smashed windows. Showing off his two green BMX bikes, the Olympic gold medalist said “Luckily my bikes were not inside”.  His wallet was stolen though, along with a backpack and a several other items.

The Brussels North Local Police Service told the Brussels regional news platform Bruzz that “Our officers were called to a break-in in a vehicle belonging to the Australian Olympic cycling delegation. We have launched an investigation”.

Some of the stolen items, such as a helmet, gloves, and a massage table, have been recovered using luggage trackers. They were found dumped in a nearby street.
