Every year the military and civil parade is one of the highlights of the Belgian holiday in Brussels. Once again it attracted large crowds. King Filip and Queen Mathilde and the royal young adults also attended as well as representatives of the various branches of government.
One of the highlights was a fly-past featuring the F-16s of the Belgian air force that coloured the skies of Brussels black, gold and red.
The Brabançonne or Song of Brabant is the Belgian national anthem. Its notes resounded at the end of the parade.
