It’s the school holidays and officially summer. Yesterday was one of the few fine days we have experienced so far this July. In Beringen (Limburg) children were keen to go for a dip in ‘play pond’ 't Fonteintje (The Fountain). Here, with a green flag flying, they are able to splash about safely among the fish and dragonflies without any concerns.

Swimming is even allowed, when there is no lifeguard present. That's because the pond is not deep, nowhere more than 90 cm. And it only becomes deeper very slowly. Here everyone can play in the water safely.
Dogs too enjoy the venue.
