The Rivierenland Local Police Service has opened an investigation into suspected public indecency and exhibitionism after a film was published on social media featuring a couple having sex on the bonnet of a car in the middle of the N16 trunk road.
The news was first reported by the daily ‘Gazet van Antwerpen’ and has since been confirmed by VRT News sources. Another motorist stopped and filmed the couple’s public lovemaking. Dirk Van de Sande of the Rivierenland Local Police Service told VRT News that "We have opened an investigation into public indecency and exhibitionism”.
The couple parked up on the central reservation of the N16 road between Bornem (Antwerp Province) and Temse (East Flanders), near to the Scheldt Bridge and proceeded to have sex on the boot of their car. Another motorist got out and filmed the spectacle. It is apparent from the footage that the couple didn’t object to being watched. The man even indicated to the person that was filming him and his partner that he thought that it was fantastic that he was being filmed. The video (below) has since been shared many thousands of times on social media.
Breach of public decency and exhibitionism
The video was made at night when there was little traffic. Exactly when the lovemaking took place is not yet clear. However, the police are currently investigating exactly what happened and when. The person who made the video also risks being fine for stopping their vehicle in the middle of the road for no good reason.
