Four Brussels tunnels to close over summer months for maintenance work

The Brussels regional traffic agency Brussels Mobility has announced that four of the capital’s road tunnels will be closed for maintenance during summer months. The work will be carried out during July and August as there is around 20% less traffic on Brussels’ roads during the summer holiday period. In addition to the tunnel closures, Brussels Mobility will be carrying out work above ground to make travelling more pleasant and safer for cyclists on some of the capital’s busiest thoroughfares.

A diversion will be in place via the Waversesteenweg, the Vorstlaan and the Invalidenlaan. The neaby Beaulieu bridge (above the E411 and the Delta tunnel) will also close for resurfacing work until the end of the summer vacation.
