Flemish “Informateur” Bart De Wever continues round of consultative talks with party leaders
After having met with the leaders of the far-right Vlaams Belang, the socialists, the Christian democrats and the liberals on Tuesday, Mr De Wever met with the leader of the far-left PVDA Raoul Hedebouw on Wednesday morning.
Later today Mr De Wever will conclude the first round of his consultative talks with other party leaders with a meeting with the co-leaders of the Flemish green party Groen. They have already indicated that they don’t wish to participate in a new Flemish coalition. Nadia Naji en Jeremie Vaneeckhout are expected at 5pm.
It is as yet unclear what Mr De Wever’s next step will be. There could be a second round of consultative talks or the negotiations on the formation of a new Flemish government made up of the nationalists, the socialists and the Christian democrats might get under way.
