Antwerp police have detained a 16-year-old Dutch boy. The teenager was walking down the De Keyserlei in Antwerp carrying with a jerrycan of petrol and fireworks. It is suspected that he might have been planning to carry out an attack.

Kim Bastiaens of the Antwerp Local Police Service told VRT News that “We picked up a 16-year-old teenager on De Keyserlei in Antwerp at 1am last night”.
"The youngster was carrying a jerry can of petrol and fireworks, which is obviously suspicious. Possibly he wanted to carry out an attack. Investigations will reveal exactly what he was planning. He was on foot and alone." The boy was detained for questioning.
