21% of voters still undecided, far-right well ahead

Just three days before Belgians vote in regional, federal and European elections, the daily ‘Het Laatste Nieuws’ and the commercial broadcaster VTM published what they called “The Last Poll” on Thursday evening.

Published:

On Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 of June 2,000 Flemings over the age of 18 were asked which party they intend to vote for on Sunday. The pollsters say that their poll’s margin of error is 2.2%.

As in previous polls the far-right party Vlaams Belang was the most popular party among those that expressed a preference. 25.8% of those surveyed for The Last Poll said said that they intended to vote Vlaams Belang.

In second place is the Flemish nationalist party N-VA. 21% of those that expressed a preference said that they intend to vote for the party.

In third place is the socialist party Vooruit with 15.6%.

12.3% of those surveyed that expressed a prefference said that they intend to vote for the Christian democrat party CD&V.

10.2% said that they intend to vote for the far-left party PVDA.

As has been the case in several previous polls the big losers in The Last Poll are the liberal party Open VLD and the green party Groen. Open VLD polled 7% and Groen 6.1%

However, this is only a poll and with 21% of voters still undecided a lot can still change between now and Sunday. On Sunday Flandersnews.be will be here with all the latest election news and results.
