4 people have been critically injured after 2 cars were involved in an accident on the eastbound carriageway of the E40 motorway at Everberg in Flemish Brabant on Friday morning.
Jana Verdegem of the Federal Highways Police told VRT News that “The accident happened this morning around at 6.30 am on the eastbound E40 near Everberg. 2 cars collided on the left-hand lane. 4 people were seriously injured in the accident. They were all taken to hospital in with life-threatening injuries”.
The cause of the accident is not yet clear. The accident resulted in the closure of the left lane. This led to congestion on the eastbound E40 with traffic tailing back from Sint-Stevens-Woluwe.
