It was yesterday that motorists on the Brussels orbital noticed a naked and bleeding member of the public jogging on the Brussels ring road near the Brussels borough of Vorst. He was walking and jogging and is also said to have climbed and jumped on several vehicles.
Images of the incident are circulating on social media and show the man is bleeding.
"We received a report of the incident around 7.40am on Monday morning," Jana Verdegem of the federal police said. "The man was clearly out of control and also jumped on several cars. Traffic police managed to catch up with him and he was then taken away by ambulance".
Not the first incident
A similar incident took place in the Belliard Tunnel in central Brussels only two days ago. Several drivers were forced to swerve to miss a clothed man, who was walking in the busy traffic tunnel. It is not yet clear whether it is the same person.
