Belgium’s football association is not currently selling tickets for the Red Devils’ match against Israel in Brussels in September, on safety grounds.

The RBFA “is in permanent contact with the security services, the city of Brussels and the federal government” it said on Thursday, as ticket sales began for the autumn fixtures at Brussels' King Baudouin stadium.

On current advice, the match against Israel, scheduled for Friday 6 September, will be played behind closed doors. “The security situation is being analysed,” the RBFA said.

Ticket sales for the home matches against France on 14 October and Italy on 14 November began on Thursday for members of the 1895 fan club. The priority period ends on 22 May, after which tickets go on general sale.

“We know that a sold-out King Baudouin stadium gives a huge boost to our Red Devils, so we are counting on a legion of supporters for our home matches against France and Italy,” said Piet Vandendriessche, CEO of the RBFA. “For the match against Israel, we are in contact with the authorities. Safety always comes first.”
