The VRT’s broadcast of this year’s final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday evening was watched by 861,423 people either live on TV or live or delayed on our streaming platform VRT Max. Although still high this year’s viewing figures are much lower than they were for last year’s contest.
In 2023 the final of the Eurovision Song Contest that was held in the English city of Liverpool attracted 1,332,000 views. This is around 500,000 more viewers than there were for this year’s contest that took place in the Swedish city of Malmö.
The lower viewing figures were probably at least in part due to the absence of a Belgian in the final. This year’s Belgian entry from the Mustii didn’t make it through to Saturday’s final. Meanwhile, the Dutch representative Joost Klein was disqualified.
