The Anspachlaan in Brussels was the scene of a stabbing in the early evening on Wednesday. Police say one person was seriously injured and is now fighting for his life.

Stabbing on Brussels' Anspachlaan leaves victim fighting for his life

It was around 6pm on Wednesday that local police received a call about a knife attack on the Anspachlaan, in downtown Brussels, says Ilse Van de keere of Brussels police. Several police teams were then sent to the scene.
"Our patrols encountered an injured person and provided first medical assistance until the MUG emergency medical team arrived". The victim was then taken to hospital. "Doctors confirmed the victim’s life hangs in the balance," the police said.
Several suspects were reportedly involved in the altercation. They fled the scene before the arrival of the police. Arrived on the scene police cordoned off the area. An investigation is in full swing, police spokeswoman Van de keere concludes.
