Starting 1 April, Belgium’s minimum wage increases. The Christian trade union ACV has calculated that the rise will benefit 80,000 workers across the country.

The increase was agreed earlier during negotiations involving both sides of industry and services. A first increase took place on 1 April 2022 topping up the minimum wage by 76.28 euros a month before tax.

A second increase in the minimum wage now follows. The minimum wage rises by 35.70 euros gross per month. "The new minimum wage will then amount to 2,029.88 euros per month before tax," the Christian trade union ACV explains.

After tax workers will keep a little more in their pocket too: some 50 euros. This is the result of the rise in the bonus people in work enjoy.

There is more good news in the pipeline. On 1 April 2026, the minimum wage will rise again, again by 35.70 euros.
