The four suspects are said to have sought weapons on the internet. However, no weapons or explosives were seized when searches were carried out at several addresses on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Federal Police say that they have concrete indications that the suspects intended to carry out an attack on the Botanique Cultural Centre (photo above) in the Brussels municipality of Sint-Joost-ten-Node. The attack was to have been carried out in a couple of weeks’ time.
The management of the cultural centre has since announced that no additional security measures will be taken for the time being.
