Following yesterday’s disruption, people flying with the Belgian flag carrier Brussels Airlines may also be inconvenienced today. Due to a strike by some cabin crew staff at the airline, 3 out of 10 flights are cancelled. The flights affected depart from or arrive at Brussels Airport.

The strike began yesterday. The airline's stewards and stewardesses are demanding better pay restoration to pre-pandemic levels and an easing of the workload.

Consultations between management and unions have not yet yielded results. Despite what management called their "very substantial" proposal, no agreement was reached in talks, Brussels Airlines says.

3,500 passengers hit

The strike is affecting more than 3,500 passengers. The airline says it has been able to rebook everyone on other flights, with most also able to leave today. Brussels Airlines, for example, is asking other companies within the Lufthansa group to use larger aircraft.

Following flights will be cancelled:

Flights from Brussels to Milan, Frankfurt, Madrid, Hamburg, Toulouse, Copenhagen, Lomé, Nice, Conakry, Bilbao and New York.

Flights from Douala, Bujumbura, Prague, Budapest, Venice, Warsaw, Copenhagen, Madrid, Frankfurt, Milan and Munich.
