The Belgian royal family gathered at the Church of Our Lady in the Brussels district of Laken on Tuesday morning for the annual Requiem Mass in honour of their deceased relatives.
The Belgian Royals first drank coffee at Laken Castle, the home of King Filip and Queen Mathilde. Among those in attendance were King Albert, who will be 90 year and Princess Delphine. It is the first time that King Albert and his daughter, who was born out of wedlock, have been seen in public together.
It was also the first time that Princess Delphine had been seen with other members of the royal family since she wrote a letter to the Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo (Flemish liberal) complaining that she wasn’t invited to all the royal family’s official functions.
After the church service the royal family returned to Laken Castle for lunch.
