Lecturer under investigation for transgressive behaviour at Bruges College of Europe
European news website Politico has seen e-mails that the professor sent to several female students in recent years. According to the website, at the College of Europe the professor has had to answer for his behaviour to a committee. Politico says the academic showed no remorse nor any sign of understanding his acts caused offence. As a result the committee ruled that the professor cannot continue working at the school, but the final decision is up to the rector, the college’s head.
The College of Europe has confirmed that one of its academics is the subject of an internal investigation. "The college has a strict code to ensure that every member of the school feels safe and respected. In no way should the dignity and integrity of any person be violated," the college stresses.
The College of Europe is a prestigious international school: many students go on to become diplomats or leading officials.
