Batibouw, the annual construction trade fair, began in Brussels last weekend. The 65th edition of Batibouw at the Heizel exhibition centre runs until 25 February. Over 300 exhibitors will showcase their innovations, offers and services.
This year, the focus at Batibouw is on energy saving and what action you can take. Suppliers and contractors show you what affordabile and sustainable measures you can take to save energy.
Despite the trend and legal requirements for energy saving and sustainable construction, renovation and living, the construction industry expects another difficult year. Contractors’ order books are not full. Over half of all construction companies and installers expect a decline in customer numbers and orders of up to 15% and fear having to lay off staff.
While Batibouw organisers had difficulty finding enough exhibitors, ticket sales are booming. Last year, Batibouw attracted some 160,000 visitors. Belgian regions are also present to promote their building and renovation incentives promoting sustainability.
