Two people are seriously injured following a shooting in the Marollen District, a working class area in the City of Brussels. Police believe the shooting may be a settling of accounts among drug-traffickers. The two shooters fled the scene.
It was around 6PM on Sunday that shots rang out in the Lacaillestraat not far from Halle Gate and the South Station. Police confirmed two people, who were badly hurt, were rushed to hospital. The police believe two shooters fired the shots. The two shooters are on the run, but police are on their tails. What exactly triggered the shooting is unclear, but police have little doubt it is linked to drug-trafficking or drug-dealing.
