Since the UK government changed its policies and decided migrants arriving on small boats no longer qualify for asylum in Britain, Belgium has noticed a change, says Governor of West Flanders Carl Decaluwé. People-traffickers have switched their operations and are again focusing on stowing away migrants on trucks bound for the Channel ports. In Jabbeke (West Flanders) motorway services have been completely renovated and checks are now carried out on lorries using a scanner. Trucks that are checked here can get a green stamp giving the driver priority when he or she arrives at the port.
