Wednesday will see heavy snow in large parts of Belgium, including 10 centimetres or more in the centre of the country and the northeast. In Flanders, most of the snow is not expected until the afternoon. The snow zone will leave Belgium on Thursday morning.
The zone enters Belgium from the French border on Wednesday morning, says weather forecaster Jacotte Brokken:
"It’s especially in the southeast of the country that a lot of snow is expected to fall. That could be 20 centimetres or even more, but 10 centimetres or more could also fall in central parts and in the northeast. Between the River Scheldt and the coast, we are looking at only a few centimetres of snow."
In Flanders, most of the snow is not expected until the afternoon. Vigilance will especially be needed during the evening rush hour. The snow zone leaves Belgium on Thursday morning.
