The Royal Meteorological Institute (KMI) says that the weather will remain changeable during the rest of Wednesday, with occasional showers interspersed with a few clear spells. In upland areas in the south of Belgium the showers will be more frequent and more intense. Once again there could be some considerable rainfall with between 10 and 25mm/m² falling at some locations. Thunder is also a possibility in some areas.
Maximum temperatures today will reach 6°C or 7°C in the Ardennes and 10°C or 11°C in the west and central areas of the country. The south-westerly wind will generally be moderately strong, and occasionally strong at the coast and on the hilltops of the Ardennes. Gusts of 60 to 70 km/h and even 80 km/h at some locations cannot be ruled out.
This evening and tonight, the weather will remain variable with showers. Drier weather with the possibility of sunny spells will set in in the west towards the end of the night. Minimum temperatures will fall to between 4°C and 9°C. Along the coast, strong westerly winds will persist. At the coast and in the Ardennes, gusts of up to 60 km/h or more are a possibility.
