The Federal Economy Department has announced that the maximum price that filling stations are allowed to charge for petrol and diesel will fall from midnight tonight.

Cheaper diesel and petrol from Wednesday

The maximum price for a litre of 95 petrol (E10) will fall by 2.5 eurocent to 1.6470 euro per litre. The maximum price for a litre of 98 petrol (E5) will fall by 4.5 eurocent to 1.8480 euro/litre. The energy industry federation Energia says that this is the lowest maximum price for 98 petrol since March 2022.
The maximum price for diesel is set to fall too. From midnight tonight the maximum price for a litre of diesel (B7) will fall by 4.3 eurocent to 1.7830 euro per litre. This is the lowest maximum price or diesel since July 2023.
