No additional measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 for the time being

Sciensano warns that data from 22 out the 41 wastewater treatment plants analysed found high levels of coronavirus. Based on data from 13 December (last Wednesday) a rapid increase in coronavirus circulation was observed in wastewater samples taken from 9 of the treatment plants. Nevertheless, the number of areas of the country where the circulation of coronavirus was found to be increasing decreased slightly compared to the previous week.

As recently as late November, code yellow warning was declared for respiratory infections. That means there is an increase in the circulation of respiratory diseases, but the pressure on the healthcare system still remains “under control”.

Additional measures?
