Flemish local transport company De Lijn is investigating an incident on its Keerbergen service. A 16-year-old girl wanted to take a bus from Ruisbeek towards Keerbergen but got stuck between the doors. The driver did not notice what had happened and drove on, while the girl hung on on the outside of the bus over a distance of nearly 4 km. Fortunately, she was not injured. Her mum has appealed for witnesses.

The girl's mother has meanwhile made an appeal on social media. "The bus travelled with my daughter on the outside till it reached the Kampenhout Sas stop, at a speed of 70 kilometres per hour. Any witnesses, please contact me."
De Lijn investigates
Flemish local transport company De Lijn is trying to find out how it could have happened. "We are aware of the incident and are fully engaged in an investigation," says spokesman Frederik Wittock. "The bus belonged to a subcontractor and we are in contact to find out exactly what happened."
"The bus driver happens to have a day off today, so we have not yet been able to speak with him. I cannot offer more clarification at present, but there is no doubt that this should not have happened."
The incident was filmed from inside the bus. VRT News is sharing the footage with the family's permission.
