Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians faced hazardous conditions on our roads this morning, though in the main the morning rush hour saw fewer problems than could have been expected. Gritters failed to visit some secondary roads like here in the leafy Brussels suburb of Ukkel, home of the Met Office. Cyclists and pedestrians crashed to the ground. One motorist lost control of the wheel and his vehicle ended up blocking the tram rails. The motorist struggled to drive off under his own steam and had to wait for tow-away services. Meanwhile the whole street was blocked.
